THE TIME IS ALMOST NEAR.

By June 23rd, we will have quit our jobs, left behind our house & belongings, and begun our travel around the world. We've got carry-on sized packs, a loose outline, and no real plan (intentionally) of what we will do when we return to Colorado Springs.

The excitement is hardly containable! Who will open their door to us? Which ideas will we carry home with us about healthcare, education, leisure, lifestyle, faith, children, sustainability, humor, community? How will we be different in a year? Who will we be when we return?

It's been fun to share our dream with others about what this trip means to us, why we're doing it, and how we got here. Over the next 8 months, we will try to unfold the nitty gritty as well as we can in this blog.

Of course we have nagging fears and insecurities, too. How are we going to survive for 8 months? Where will we get Chipotle in Africa? Will our underwear last? Homesickness is getting real.  What about Zika? Insurance? The Taliban? Why do we feel guilty about being able to take this trip? What if we get preggo? We'll answer the common questions we receive like: How are you paying for this? Where will you stay? Are you nervous? Where are you looking forward to most? What will you do when you get back?

Hopefully, this blog proves a useful platform for processing and learning.

So keep an eye out, because the first blog is coming in hot: How in the heck did you persevere to dream, prepare, and save for an 8 month around the world trip?
